.NAME Domains

Established in 2001, the .NAME universal top-level domain extension is the only one intended for personal sites only. These domains can be personal or fictional names, nicknames and/or other titles people are known by. Initially, just 3rd-level registrations were permitted, so if you wished to obtain john.doe.name, you would have to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration procedures were liberalized and 2nd-level registrations were also allowed. Already taken 3rd-level names remained running.

You will be able to change the WHOIS contact information, to park your domain, to modify Custom DNS records, etc. You can also move over an already purchased domain to our firm if you take its EPP transfer key from the current registrar and we will renew it when the transfer has been finished. There are no special prerequisites on who can grab a dot NAME domain, but in order to maintain the idea behind its establishment alive, the .NAME Registry may verify who the owner is and if there is no relation between the owner and the actual domain, the registration can be challenged.
